Refugee Empowerment Initiative Projects – Francois Bulambo, a passionate activist, musician, and refugee from the Congo, has helped to create the Refugee Initiative to help refugees in Uganda. The Initiative aims to meaningfully improve the lives of refugees in Uganda and create a model for refugee support and advocacy efforts worldwide.
Francois Bulambo Empowering the Unheard Through Music and Activism Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2000, Francois Bulambo’s life was forever changed when rebellion tore through his village, claiming the lives of his parents and sibling. Seeking refuge in Uganda with his remaining family, his step mother. Francois found solace and purpose in music, joining the Pueris Cantores choir at St. Mathias Mulumba at the tender age of 12. This experience ignited a passion that would guide his path as an activist, musician, and voice for the voiceless. As Francois grew, so did his commitment to making a diLerence. In high school, he took on the role of Entertainment Prefect, representing Kampala Apostolic Secondary School in music competitions. Undeterred by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Francois released his first album, “3:33 Message,” in 2021, showcasing his versatility as an artist and his ability to connect with audiences across languages and cultures.
